Microsoft Outlook 2003 Vulnerable to Critical IE Bug
Monday, September 25, 2006, 09:36 AM
A critical bug in the Internet Explorer (IE) browser also affects users of the Outlook 2003 e-mail client, making it much more serious than previously thought.

The vulnerability can be triggered when IE or Outlook 2003 processes Web-based graphics code written in the Vector Markup Language (VML).

We recommend all our clients do the following until Microsoft has released an update to the problem:

To turn on the Read all standard mail in plain text option, follow these steps:
1. Start Outlook 2003.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. On the Preferences tab, in the E-mail area, click E-mail Options.
4. In the Message handling area, click to select the Read all standard mail in plain text check box.

Update! Accessing email using pmail.easyhosting.com
Wednesday, January 18, 2006, 08:19 AM
When using an Internet connection such as Rogers or Sympatico, it may be necessary to modify the outgoing SMTP field in your email program (ie. Outlook, Outlook Express).

The outgoing mail server should remain: pmail.easyhosting.com
After clicking the "advanced" or "more options" tab, you should set the port from 25 to 1025.

This will allow you to send out emails through the pmail servers while connected with any provider that is blocking port 25.

Rogers and Sympatico block SMTP port 25
Friday, January 13, 2006, 09:40 AM
Some clients are not able to send email when their Internet Service Provider (ISP) is Rogers.

Rogers has blocked SMTP port 25 for their outgoing email. You must turn authentication ON and provide a username and password. Instruction at this link,

http://help.yahoo.com/help/rogers/mail/pop/pop-27.html

Alternatively, you can try to set your outgoing SMTP server to smtp.broadband.rogers.com and set port to 25 or 587 or 465
